Student & Resident Events

The Colorado Academy of Family Physicians hosts a number of student & resident events, including:

Colorado Academy of Family Physicians Annual Summit

Students and residents are invited to attend the CAFP Annual Summit. Our conference is an excellent opportunity for students and residents to get additional hands-on education and network with family physicians from across the state, and a special student and resident track is held every year.

Registration for students and residents is deeply discounted, and a limited number of scholarships are available to cover full costs for selected recipients.

National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students

In conjunction with the AAFP’s National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students, the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians hosts an evening networking happy hour for all Colorado attendees. Details about the event will be sent to those attending National Conference.

Lunchtime Speakers

The Colorado Academy of Family Physicians brings speakers and a catered lunch multiple times a year to both the University of Colorado and Rocky Vista University. Past topics have included marijuana, LGBT medicine, money management after school, and more.

Residency Presentations

Representatives from the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians visit each of the family medicine residencies throughout the year. Residents are able to learn more about involvement with the CAFP, and share their concerns about family medicine, and how the CAFP can help.

Student & Resident Gathering

This event, held once a year, is an opportunity for students and residents to gather and discuss family medicine with CAFP leaders. Usually held at a local brewery, this casual event is an opportunity to have some snacks, relax, and learn more about family medicine.
