The Colorado Academy of Family Physicians Welcomes Neal Walia as Director of Policy and Government Relations
Denver, Colorado – The Colorado Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) is pleased to welcome Neal Walia as Director of Policy and Government Relations. Neal will lead CAFP’s healthcare advocacy and policy efforts to advance family medicine at the state capitol as well as with state regulators and our partners.
Neal brings valuable experience in government affairs, nonprofit management, and community organizing with a historic focus on healthcare and behavioral health advocacy. Prior to working at CAFP, he served as the Deputy Director of the Asian Pacific Development Center, a nonprofit organization that provided culturally competent health and education services to New American communities across Colorado. Neal is also a former congressional candidate. He spent 5 years of his career before running for office in Washington DC on Capitol Hill, where he worked for the National Governors Association and Quorum Analytics. Neal started his career in public service as a staffer to the current U.S. Senator and former Colorado Governor, John Hickenlooper. His commitment and leadership is an asset to CAFP’s mission to serve as the bold champion for Colorado’s family physicians, patients, and communities.
“CAFP is thrilled to welcome Neal to the team,” said Ryan Biehle, CEO and Executive Vice President of CAFP. “His background brings valuable knowledge and experience that will advance CAFP’s vision of thriving family physicians creating a healthier Colorado. We look forward to Neal’s leadership in advocating on behalf of Colorado’s family physicians and our communities.”
