AAFP Issues Statement in Response to 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule
On Friday, November 1st, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2025 Medicare physician fee schedule and Quality Payment Program final rule. The AAFP released an initial statement expressing concerns that the finalized reduction of 2.8% to the Medicare conversion factor will result in untenable payment cuts for all physicians. AAFP continues to advocate for Congress to prioritize reforms to Medicare’s outdated physician payment system.
AAFP staff is currently reviewing the rule and a more detailed summary will be available to members in the weeks to come.
