Physician Advocates

Family physicians play a vital role in the field of medicine. You also play an important part as leaders in the healthcare system, shaping the way healthcare is paid for and delivered. Nobody can convey the benefits of family medicine better than a family doctor. As such, we are always looking for members to serve as physician advocates.

Do you have a personal relationship with your state legislator? Let us know and become part of our Key Contact program.

Do you have expertise or a passion for important policy topics like payment reform and practice transformation, culturally effective medicine, obesity and diabetes prevention, mental health integration, suicide prevention, or another key issue? Let us know so we can look out for advocacy opportunities of interest to you and work to address the issues you care about most.

Interested in getting involved, but not sure where to start? Contact us to have a conversation about opportunities.

You can find your state legislator and their contact information by entering your home address at the following website: http://openstates.org/find_your_legislator/

Legislative Committee

CAFP is a member-driven organization. The CAFP Legislative Committee is a group of committed family physicians who help guide the direction and decisions concerning CAFP’s advocacy at the Colorado State Capitol. Committee members discuss current legislation and strategies to advance our public policy priorities. The Committee is chaired by the President-Elect and Vice President of the CAFP Board of Directors.

If you are interested in serving as a member on the Committee, please contact CAFP’s Director of Policy and Government Relations.
