2025 CAFP Foundation Annual Summit Speaker Agreement & Registration

Through its educational events, CAFP strives to provide high-quality education developed by family physicians for family physicians. In these efforts, CAFP works to reflect and raise up the diverse voices that make up family medicine and the communities in which we serve. The following principles reflect our commitment to these efforts and should be seen as an educational opportunity for all speakers and attendees to work together to make our learning more inclusive and equitable to promote the health of all Coloradoans. We ask all of our presenters to:
• Avoid heteronormativity
• Use patient/person/community/culture- centered language
• Avoid using race as a proxy for biology or genetics; instead, use the experience of racism when describing risk factors for disease
• Highlight the impact(s) of systems/structures when possible
• We highly encourage you to use your personal pronouns on your introduction slide.

– I agree to deliver a CME presentation that is balanced, non-promotional, and objective.
– I agree to present a balanced view of therapeutic options and recognize that use of generic names, when possible, contributes to this impartiality. When trade names are used, I agree to include several companies rather than only that of a single supporting company.
– When an unlabeled use of a commercial product or an investigational use not yet approved for any purpose is discussed during an educational activity, I agree to disclose that the product is not labeled for the use under discussion or that the product is still investigational.
– I agree to use only slides that are commercial free. I also agree that none of my slides will display the name of a pharmaceutical company.
– All the recommendations involving clinical medicine in a CME activity must be based on evidence that is accepted within the profession of medicine as adequate justification for their indication and contraindication in the care of patients.
– All scientific research referred to, reported or used in CME in support of justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection and analysis.
– I agree to obtain permission for use of any copyrighted material used in my presentation.
– I grant permission to the CAFP to upload my power point presentation to the Colorado Academy of Family Physician’s website for conference registrants’ use.
– I agree to arrive at the hotel where the meeting will be held at least 45 minutes before my presentation time
